Wow.  What a game.  33,000 Roaring fans gets the game started.  We manage to bumble and bobble our way into the endzone once and that even just barely in the first half and the girls even it out in the second.  Walters was almost completely shut down except for inflicting his first casualty ever, and on the Strength 4 thrower (which was Badly Hurt and Apothecaried back into play).  Url garners another casualty and goes 16 CONSECUTIVE TURNS NO BONEHEAD this game.  WOW!  The throwers combined for a total of 9 completions and frequently were able to pick up the ball in 2 or 3 tackle zones without trouble.  Toss goes to 74 SPPs so close to that next skill.  The Blodging Guard blitzers adds tackle to his weapons.  Overall the game was the two players mostly trading gems, one making a 5+ pick up the ball roll without breaking a sweat and then the other going for it a half dozen times in a turn no worries, players consistently in the right place at the right time, blitzers scoring, catchers casualty causing.  A great game.  Maybe the most fun one the starbucks have ever played.  Truely enjoyable.

The game I had been wanting all summer… And I came out fighting. These were not the results I wanted. But with a team that was 11 games up, had more skills, and a player that can play that crazy of a game, I’m not gonna complain to much with a tie. I said I came out fighting and I think I caught him of guard,

His go to guy Walters was put to a stop on his first drive, up the side field. It ended up outta bounds and went back to about where it started on the kick. Only to have blitzers try to drive it forward more, only to be stopped again. Finally after a few attempts of being stopped a blitzer grabs the ball out from right in front of a players feet to get a TD. Half time. At this point my girls are going crazy, they didn’t come this far to see a loss, against their rival team of all people. Coming out of the locker room they were ready for anything. Second half the ball comes to them, and all of a sudden Keyla seems to read the kickers mind, and gains the kick-off return and diving catch for the rest of the game. Then the ball goes to Cha, and Cha sits at the line and taunts the Humans waiting for them to come and get her. Her taunts appeared to work as most of the human team came over just to try to make sure the ball was at least stuck where it was. And the fans must have thought that the Amazons were done for being surrounded by blitzers. But Darla and Trista step up and open a hole for Cha to get through, relizing that she couldn’t score on her own, 3 more players ran through the gap in order to give her some back up. They all make it and prepare for the incoming blocks. After the defense set up to stop the Serafems from scoring they had an easy out, all they needed to make it was a 3+ a 2+ (both with a reroll) a push on at least one of 2 2 dice blocks. I roll for the 3+ for my first move. 1, and I reroll it 1 again, but it’s ok that happens sometimes, Just ask Url… O wait I’ll explain that later. However even after a turn for the defense Cha scores after rolling a 4+, 3+, 3+, 2+. After setting up and scattering the ball, the ball goes ball in hand (DOH). However we roll on the kickoff table, BLITZ! Darla and Rebeka team up this time to bring down the unguarded thrower, then the ball lands right next to them both. So here comes Shela to put another tackle zone on it. However it’s then the humans turn and he destroys one of my tackle zone, so that he only needs a 5 to pick up the ball, Oh look he got it (I only complain because he did this 3 times and I repeat 3 times on a 5+). Then he threw the ball to guess who, you guessed it, Chris Walters! Chris on the line and guarded by 2 guard blitzers, who were staring down Trista. Then the coach upset by this amazing dice rolling realized that he had bought a wizard with inducements. Then I could easily pick up the ball and throw a short pass to run it in for the TD. So he whispers in the wizards ear to cast lightning at Chris Walters. But apparently that was the wizards favorite player and he didn’t want to hurt him as I rolled a 1 for the Lightning bold. However I delt with that. but back to the game, Walters only looking ahead at the goal, didn’t see Darla flank him from the side. Walters goes down stunned by the amazing hit. Who no longer can do anything because all her movement went into the blitz. The rest of the game was the ball going from the tip of the humans goal to the tip of the Amazons goal. It was like a crazy game of tug-a-war.

All in all I must say, I think that was the best game of Blood Bowl I’ve played in a long time. It made my head hurt a little at the end (but then again it was the last of the three games I played that day). But man like I said before it was the game I was waiting for with not quite the same results as I wanted. I must say dice were good and bad for both of us at some point, so there’s no point in crying about that. No skill ups but that’s not what this game was about for me. Great, I repeat GREAT game. I hope we can do it again sometime. Great way to start my premier team.
