Well the foul stench of decaying flesh ruined the appetites of many a blood bowl fan this weekend causing riots to break out each half of this nail biting game. You could clearly see the confidant look on the Dengue coach’s face melted away when he saw the wizard on the other side of the pitch. Many of the Crock’s hometown fans showed up to cheer their team on and you could hear the deafening noise of their team’s anthem bolstering the courage of these small warriors. The referee was so moved by the singing that he let the Halflings decide whether to kick-off or receive. When Dengue’s coach was asked to comment on this play all he had to say was “That’s a bunch of “Expletive Deleted””

Seeing the unbalanced start of the game Dengue decided the best way to get even was to take out their aggression on what would hurt their opponents the most - their trees. With four players with claws hurt the trees they did, causing a serious injury to one and badly hurting the other, luckily for the Halflings they scouted their opponents and brought with them an extra apothecary patching up their muscle for the next drive. Dengue drove in to score late in the half.

As the trees came onto the pitch and lined up at opposite corners of the pitch the look on Dengue was one of puzzlement when the Halfling that caught the ball didn’t run up and hand off to be thrown as they assumed but as the little Halfling dropped back and threw a Hail Mary Pass!!! Almost caught Dengue scrambled to get the ball back but failed to pick it up. The little Halfling that missed the ball made it up with some fancy foot work to pick up the ball amidst many Pestigor to even the score 1-1. Anger turned to panic as Dengue tried to recover but as a goblin fanatic was thrown in taking out the ball carrier Dengue failed to score causing this match to go to overtime.

The Crocks won the toss and elected to receive but with only 8 players on the pitch it didn’t look good. Dengue lined up many of their players close to the end-zone fearing the 1-turn touchdown but the Crock-pots string of luck started to run out as one by one the last of the Halflings fell.

In the end both trees were rooted and with only 2 Halflings able to move Carl Jr. with more guts than brains dove through the legs of multiple opponents to blitz the ball carrier! The ball carrier was nearly knocked to the ground but in the end they managed to push to the end zone winning the game 2-1.

A bit overconfident, coach Thistle’s Dengue Fever took the field.  The Crock Pot half pints had no shot, or did they.  The comissioners office had apparently given the Pots a incentive laden deal to entice the halflings to participate.  Those incentives made a game out of what should have been a slaughter.  To give credit where credit is due the halfpints gave the Har Naggarund Invitational Champs all they could handle and it took a sudden death overtime for the Fever to put the game away.  Make no mistake the convicts of the Mean Machine will not be taken as lightly.  The Fever has been given the wakeup call that they needed.
