Once again, popcorn sales were down at the concession stands for the Dwarves with another 10K in winnings. Looks like the little guys won’t be replacing their losses just yet. Oh well, at least we survived this game intact and managed a draw to boot. No small feat, considering they had no Troll Slayers and only 1 Blitzer active for this game.

The Pals should have stayed home. The rumble on the field was not the Deathroller, but Coach Pacal’s innards. The fastest person on the pitch was Pacal on his way to the restroom. From the opening kickoff, nothing went the Dwarves way. A Blitz neutralized their opening drive, Storm secured the ball and scored shortly thereafter, but not before injuring the Dwarves last remaining Blitzer. The Pals managed to tie it up at 1-1, but that was the last of the highlights. The second half saw the Pals pelted by rocks from the crowd, the Deathroller KO’d before it could do anything, 6 Dwarves injured or Ko’d (all of which had Mighty Blow), and Star Runner Chuck Dodgers injured. At one point, there were only 6 Dwarves on the pitch and 5 of those were on their backs. "We never had any kind of momentum in this game and The Storm was in complete control throughout" said Coach Pacal.

Smeenge’s Pals was stunned in the first half. "We did not expect the Halflings to come out like a pack of sniveling, dirty weasels", said injured Blitzer Helmut Steamroller. He continued on to say, "The food was excellent at the tailgate party, but it bogged us down and the rerolls definately suffered. There was an explosion at one point and Dwarves were flying in every direction. There also seemed to be some kind of aura surrounding the Crock Pots that made them tougher to injure. Every time that one of the Dwarves went down, dozens of the dirty weasels descended upon us like ravenous animals, fouling anything that wasn’t nailed down. We did prevail in the end, but it was not the picnic that we had expected."

The Elves came out fidgety at the kickoff and managed to blitz the receiving Dwarves and grab the ball before the Pal’s could even move. The Pal’s were caught off guard, but managed to sneak an extra player onto the pitch and recapture the ball, marching down the field, crushing the Elves with every yard gained. The stretcher bearers were going to be busy this evening for the Hacks. Chuck Dodgers scored in the wake of the destruction and the Hack’s were about to receive a kickoff. The blitz was repaid in kind by the Dwarves and an Elven Catcher went crowd surfing. Wardancer #6 took a liking to one of the honey’s in the crowd and decided that she was more important than the kickoff. This left the Hack’s manpower a little thin on the pitch. Of course, the Dwarves took full advantage and Dodgers scored once again for his second TD. The second half would not bring around a momentum change for the Hacks. The only momentum was going to be that of Elven bodies impacting the pitch. A tough loss for the Hack’s and it left their Coach wondering about the future of this once proud team.

Well, no PHD for the Aces. The dwarves just couldn’t get their hands on their scrawney little necks, but they did keep the "Aerial Circus" in check. Not too many passes completed in this game. A classic game of speed vs ground and pound. The Aces did seem a bit nervous and did fail in a few critical spots, but I think that if they would replaced their ballet shoes with some cleats and get rid of their tutu’s, they may be able to make those plays next time. The Court opened up the first half kickoff by taking out Dwarven Lineman Erich Hartmann with a crushing block. They followed up next turn by taking out Star Runner Chuck Dodgers. Who would be able to handle the ball for the Dwarves? Were the Dwarves in trouble? Alas, the stretcher bearers for Akasha’s would have a very busy day from that point on. It is easy to handle the ball when the opposing player only has 3 players on the pitch! The 2 Vampires weren’t sure if they really wanted to play, so they sat out most of the first half with ice packs on their heads. The Court bravely tried a comeback in the second half, but the lack of manpower severly hampered their attack. The Pal’s gained respect for this unusual team and have no doubt that Akasha’s Court will be a force to be reckoned with in the future as their skill level progresses.

Smeenge’s Pals muscled the opening kickoff into the end zone and managed to keep the Red Wings from scoring in the first half. The Red Wings seemed to regroup and scored on the second half kickoff and it appeared for a moment that a game was at hand. Sadly, that touchdown was the last of the highlights for the Red Wings. The Pals took the ensuing kickoff and rumbled down the pitch leaving destruction and devastation in the wake of their second touchdown. The High Elf fans had tears of pride streaming down their faces as the remaining healthy, brave 5 lineman took to the pitch against the standard 11 of the Pals. Needless to say, the young elven lads spent a lot of time on their backs. A postion, along with "missionary" and "69", that they are so accustomed to. Maybe the boys from Aces High can cheer the lads up at their hotel.
