The Knights had a lot of frustration with their ability to toss blocks this match.  The Knights also couldn’t muster any offence against the steely elves of Aces High.  With everyone being able to handle the ball with superior agility, the Knights got a taste of how difficult going up against the spy elves can be.  To top it off, the armor they boasted was equal to the Knights themselves.

The head coach of the the Checkmates Knights had this to say after the game:

"We tried to put up a match at every turn, and even with the cards of fate trying to swing the momentum our way, Nuffle did not favor our match and tipped the scales against us by turning the ball over from us more times than we could recover from.  The boys tried hard given the luck of the match.  I am glad we got to see the elves at this stage of the game so we can appropriately plan for them later in the season, closer to the play offs.  With this in mind, I’d like to introduce the newest addition to the Checkmate Knights, mighty ogre, Grimmy.  He hails from the outskirts of the realm and brings with him some raw power that the Knights hope to put to good use on the pitch.  With some training from the knights on the team, and some handling from the pawns, Grimmy will surely be a valuable asset to the Knights arsenal of attack."

The White Rook earn his first skill by finally remembering how to pick up the ball and actually toss it.  This in combination with the White Bishop remembering how to dodge, weave, and keep away from the opposing team long enough to run the ball into the end zone.  The White Bishop also took out some pent up agression by killingthe journyman skink.  Not to be outdone by a member of lower status, the Green Knight lowered his shoulder and drove onward like a charging steer.  The saurus that lay in his path never knew what hit him.  His head came off, and the giant lizard lay decapitated on the pitch.

The White Knight threw an impressive hit on one of the skinks, and with some other hard hitting moves on the pitch, earn the Ladies MVP award.

All in all, Knights of the Lady put on an impressive hard hitting display of power that not only won over the fans and overcame the opposition, but took them one step closer to winning the favour of The Lady!

Holt sh!t those dwarves are tough to move.  The offensive coach is planning on putting the white rook and bishop through the ringer and handing them their a$$ for not being able to do what they are supposed to do...handle the f’n ball!!!  The white rook knows his a$$ is on the line, and if he can’t perform in the Knights next match up, you can be sure he will be serving trolls at the local meat market.

Between the White Rook and White Knight, Team Checkmate was on a roll.  Pawn #5 gave one of Akasha’s Court a real pop, and the fans from Checkmate took down a Vampire with a well aimed rock to the head.  There wasn’t a re-roll to spare in this pitch clash, and at least at the start of the match, it looked like someone slipped a ‘bad mojo’ rock into Akasha’s Court’s team soup with the bad luck they were having.  It tended to spring up at the worst times.  They evened out in the second half somewhat, but Checkmate had already done its damage.
