The game was nearly wrapped up in a couple short turns as the Storm grabs a ball and runs into the Oath Breaker’s end zone. It was a fake ball.

We had the real ball in a chest we had moved into position to cover. The Storm and the Miners fought it out for hours trying to get the ball to an end zone. We fell victim to pits and teleporters until we had only a couple guys left in the dungeon.

The Starbucks finally end up with the ball near the Oath Breaker’s end zone after some unfortunate steps just before “scoring” for the second time. So, the Starbucks score and are able to bring one of theirs back to life with the prize potion.

1st Game of the Dungeon Bowl.

Things were going well when we found a ball in a chest near our end zone. We started moving down the corridor toward the Oath Breaker’s end zone. We met them and put one of them down. The Death Roller was moving toward the front to clear a path, when something went wrong. For some reason the roller decided to go through a teleporter followed by the ball carrier. They went to different places. A blitzer tried to follow, but got knocked down by the teleporter.

The second ball end up in the hands of the lizards that made a break for our end zone. We mounted a defense, but the lizards did better with chance and ended up scoring.

The ball carrier teleported again after getting surrounded, but ended up in a worse place.

Everyone started jumping in teleporters and we got spread out too thin.

The humans ended up with the ball and easily dodged past a dragon to score.

Hey boys, let’s stay away from the teleporters in the next game unless we have no other choice. Block up and push through!!!

Miner’s worst game ever!

One Slayer KO’d and one stunned in the 2nd turn. Scored against in the 3rd.
2 Babes and failed to bring back the KO’d slayer!

Ogre casualties the Deathroller in turn 5...niggler...use apothecary...niggler again! Wasted the apothecary, don’t get to use the bribe we paid for, and no more Deathroller for the rest of the game!

Starbucks keeps rolling dodge! Miners only have one guy with the dodge skill. It’s hard to get moving when everyone is always laying around or getting knocked out of the game!

The Blitzer with ball gets badly hurt by the ogre. Starbucks takes the ball, but can’t quite get out of range. The Miners of course can’t knock him down on a blitz though. They surround him, but the coach forgets about their wizard. Starbucks players blitz, block, dodge, and score.

The coaching gets even worse in the second half! Miners don’t pick up the ball or do blocks before trying some dodges...a Miner falls on a dodge...turn over. Starbucks can’t quite get to the ball. The Miners have a chance to score in the third turn of the second half...nope...the ball carrier falls in the end zone on a go-for-it!

Starbucks has the ball. Miners can’t do much but get some tackle zones on the ball carrier. Now the wizard...casualty! With only one tackle zone left on the ball, Starbucks throws a one dice block...POW...break...casualty!!! Are you kidding me!!!

In a twist of fate, Starbucks ends up dropping the ball, but pretty far from anybody with any kind of movement or agility. One Blitzer sees his opportunity to make the play of the game. If he can get the ball, he might be able to throw a long pass to give us a chance to score. He blitzes...push/push...re-rolls (leaves him too many dodges)...POW...does one dodge...does a go-for-it...does another dodge...fails to pick up the ball! Starbucks picks up the ball and scores.

Can nothing go right!

It’s 3-0. Two turns left in the game. Miners have the ball in great position. All the guys are lined up to make a charge down the left side of the field. All the blocks go right. Pass goes well. Runner in position to score the next turn with a little support.

It turns out to be enough support! Starbucks can’t cut off the Miner’s runner. The last move of the game...Runner does a go-for-it in the end zone...HE STICKS IT...SCOOOORRRREEE!!!!

The Miners at least keep it from being a shutout.

Miners are allowed to receive first...ball-in-hand...pitch invasion. Only one wardancer stunned. I put four more elves down before my first turn is over. The top of the first half is a lot Dwarfs trying to form a turtle to keep out the dancers. About half way through the half the dancers make it in and knock out the ball. It bounces...A LOT. The elves fail to pick it up. I got the ball back and head for the touch down. The elves start to gang up on some dwarfs left behind. The dwarfs decide to retaliate and get skull. The top of the 8th turn of the first half sees a dwarf score. The bottom of turn 8 sees the elves attempt a one turn score, but they trip in the end zone and fail the pro roll.

First half 1-0 Dwarfs!

Top of turn one in the second half...elves score. First part of the second half...more turtles...more dancing. Bottom of 5 the Dwarfs fail a go for it to score. The elves pick up the ball and have it almost to the other end zone before the Dwarfs can brush themselves off. Elves are 2-1.

Bottom of 7 the Dwarfs get the kickoff. Most of the elves are hiding by their end zone. The Dwarfs string themselves out in hopes of a two turn score. No opposition from the elves. Bottom of 8...blitz...dodge...Dwarfs score!

The second game for the Miners was not nearly as good as the first. No points and no casualties! I can understand the no points part, but no casualties???? Well, they’re still kind of new to this game.

Some may say that the Grumpy Rage was foolish to pick up a bunch of ex-hockey players for their farm team, but the defunct Grumpy Miners hockey team did pretty well for their first time on the pitch. There were a lot of lucky rolls and well executed dodges that lead to an unheard of two points in the first half for one of this franchises dwarf teams. Their skills in checking translated well to casualties on the pitch. Again, overall it was a decent performance for their first time out. Keep it up and some of you guys will be playing for the Rage sooner than you may have thought!
